AusPlots surveillance monitoring infrastructure is valued for its impact on our understanding of ecosystems, informing on environmental change and supporting decisions on sustainable natural resource management and land use planning.
The AusPlots mission is to:
- advance, implement and train on nationally agreed, standard field methods to the broader ecosystem science community including scientists, government agencies, industry, land managers and students
- maintain and disseminate data and vouchered sample collections that support research and inform on the state of the environment
- explore new methods and innovative applications for data collection, analysis and presentation in ways that complements existing approaches
- be recognised by peers and stakeholders as an essential and collaborative leader in ecosystem surveillance monitoring.
